7-11-2008

Some days are simply special. You wake up and say, this is going to be a wonderful day. Friday, 7 November 2008, was one such day.

1. Anwar Ibrahim enjoyed a victory on this day when Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court judge SM Komathy Suppiah ruled in his favour, deciding that his sodomy trial would be heard in the same court.

2. Even more significant, Shah Alam High Court Judge Syed Ahmad Helmy Syed Ahmad ruled that the detention of Raja Petra under the ISA was illegal – unconstitutional, in fact – and ordered his immediate release.

3. D., my second-born, won first prize in the instrumental category in school talent competition and walked away with RM300. He plans to start a new cello fund with his winnings.

4. E., my first-born, turned 18 on this day.

7 November 2008 really was a great day. I wrote this post to commemorate the day.
